Useless Tools (useless-tools.com) is a free, open-source collection of online utility tools. We are committed to respecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how it is used, and your rights.

Data We Collect

  • QR Share Records: When you use the "Share as Link" feature in the QR Code Generator, the QR configuration (email address, subject, message, colors, frame settings) is stored in our database hosted on Supabase. This data is tied to a randomly generated slug and is accessible to anyone with the link.
  • Logo Images: If you upload a logo for your QR code and use the share feature, the logo image is stored in Supabase Storage.
  • View Counts: We track how many times a shared QR link is viewed (a simple counter - no personal data is collected from viewers).

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not require account registration or login.
  • We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal identifiers.
  • We do not use advertising trackers or sell data to third parties.
  • Tools that operate entirely in your browser (e.g., download-only features) do not send any data to our servers.

Data Storage & Security

All stored data (QR share records and uploaded logos) is hosted on Supabase, a secure cloud infrastructure provider. Data is stored in the US (or Supabase's default region). We apply row-level security policies to prevent unauthorized access. However, shared QR links are public by design - anyone with the URL can view the QR.

Data Retention

QR share records and associated logos are stored indefinitely unless you request deletion. If you want your data removed, contact us via WhatsApp and provide the share link - we will delete it promptly.

Cookies & Local Storage

We use localStorage only to remember your dark/light theme preference. No tracking cookies are set. We do not use analytics cookies or any third-party cookie services.
